WHY COLD PRESSED?
THE STRESS FREE WAY TO FEED COLD PRESSED!
A FOOD WITH BETTER DIGESTIBILITY
Cold Pressed is a dry dog food which is pressed at a lower temperature of 65 degrees Celsius compared to kibbled dry dog food which is extruded at a temperature of approximately 145 degrees Celsius.
SO WHY COLD PRESSED?
High temperatures result in the destruction of proteins and complexing of starches (sugars) reducing digestibility and thus absorption within the gut. Cold pressing minimises the impact of temperature and produces a food with greater digestibility and nutritional value, up to 40% of the nutritional value can be lost in the extrusion process.
The lower temperatures used in the Cold Press process allows a greater range of raw materials to be considered when creating recipes. These include fragile herbs which have significant health benefits as they are sources of vitamins and antioxidants but cannot be used in traditional extruded product as they are almost entirely destroyed in the high temperatures of the extrusion process.
Dry food produced using the Cold Press process has a greater bulk density meaning less is fed by volume, it therefore breaks down quicker in the stomach which again aids digestion.
As Cold Pressed food has this greater digestibility and is more wholesome nutritionally, it is important to take the following into account when switching from a Kibbled food:
Overfeeding – A lower amount of food by volume should be fed at any one sitting. That means don’t use your standard receptacle when measuring out your four-legged friends’ meal! Overfeeding can result in loose stool and significant weight gain.
Water – As with feeding any dry food our Cold Pressed product should always be served with a bowl of fresh water, so your pooch remains hydrated.
We hope you and your pet enjoy all the benefits afforded by our Cold Pressed dry dog food!
What you put in you get out!
Nobody likes to talk about it, but every dog owner has got to do it. Picking up poo is not high on anyone list, but it's a lot easier with a cold pressed diet.
Poos are firmer and smaller and less fragrant if you get what we mean.
Cold pressed feeders go through fewer poo bags, which is a bonus for the environment.
