DRESS THEM UP IN A PET HALLOWEEN COSTUME
Dog Halloween outfits are some of the cutest we have ever seen! Dog owners often make us laugh and smile at their cute and clever outfits each October. To safely play dress up with your dog this Halloween, make sure the costume fits comfortably, doesn’t restrict movement and ensure there are no choking hazards such as small edible pieces. When your dog is all dressed up, make sure to keep an eye on them to ensure they’re safe and happy. Dressing up is a great way to make memories and have some fun at Halloween with your pup! If you think your dog has what it takes to be best dressed this Halloween, why not enter our Halloween Competition to win a treats and toys hamper?! Check out our social media to find out more.
TRICKS FOR DOG TREATS

Halloween presents lots of opportunities to play fun games with your dog including tricks for treats! Brush up on your dog’s range of tricks this Howl-o-ween and reward them with our Well Tasty Treats. It is also a great time to incorporate some new tricks in your dog’s repertoire! Our Halloween hamper prize for our Trick or Treat Competition is a great spooky surprise to let your pup in on all the fun if they have what it takes to win. There are also a variety of homemade goolie treats you can make for your dog as a reward for when they master their awesome new tricks!
BAKE PUMPKIN DOG TREATS
Buy a pumpkin for your dog at the same time as buying one to carve! Your dog can benefit hugely from pumpkin as it is low in calories and rich in a variety of essential vitamins and minerals. Pumpkin is high in fibre, potassium and vitamin A. Pureed cooked pumpkin without added sugar is an ideal ingredient for use in dog treats! It’s not only fun for Halloween but also extremely beneficial for your dog. Pumpkin promotes eye health, boosts immune health and benefits your dog’s digestive tract along with a whole host of other plus points! Try out the recipe below this Halloween.
Pumpkin Dog Biscuit Recipe
1 large egg
220g pumpkin puree
250g whole wheat flour
Extra flour for rolling out the dough
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Put the egg and pumpkin puree in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth. Mix in the flour and knead until a biscuit like dough forms.
Put flour out over your work counter and roll the dough to approximately 2.5cm thick.
Use your favourite cookie cutters to create some spooky Halloween shapes!
Place the cookies on a baking tray with baking parchment leaving space for spreading between each biscuit. Bake for around 40 minutes at 180°C or until golden brown, flipping and rotating the biscuits half way through.
Remove the tray from the oven and allow to fully cool on a wire rack. You can store the cookies for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
TRICK OR TREAT WITH YOUR PET
Dogs that are outgoing and comfortable in social situations may be perfect companions for when trick-or-treating in the local neighbourhood or as helpers when giving out sweets to trick or treaters at your home. In either case, make sure they won’t be easily spooked by children or adults dressed up in costumes. At Halloween, unusual sounds and scary decorations may be frightening for dogs who have never experienced fancy dress parties or Halloween before.
Make sure your dog stays close by, even on lead for extra safety, to ensure there are no runaways. Dogs may be tempted to run out of the house with all of the noise and excitement going on, with it being dark by late October, this could be dangerous. Check out our upcoming blog post talking about the dangers of Halloween for dogs to find out more about inviting trick-or-treaters to your door safely!
